Once again I surprise myself at how unresponsive I am to events that catches me off guard by writing my journal one day late.
Today's Pub for Idiots goes to Loof at Odeon Towers Extension Rooftop, 331 North Bridge Road #03-07.
(Note: You know, just for thought, I originally planned to fill out my Journal with reviews for Tim Sum eating places.... Wonder what happened...)
Back to the topic, not to say that Loof is all that bad, one thing it has in its favor, excellent ambiance, great architecture, stylish and a moderately good view across the cityscape, thats only if they bother to clean the glass panels, if I wanted to stare out at a dirty glass window I have my own at home, thank you very much.
We were there to celebrate Crimson's [link] birthday and to chill out, we were received in less then a minute, sat and served in less then 5, which was good.
Alcohol there is priced averagely according to normal pub standards, about 100% more. Type of Alcohol and cocktails served? Well, suffice to say Normal and unexciting.
We ordered a bottle of unexciting house wine [Jacob's Creek Cabernet Sauvignon] and some wedges. The waitress who served us was at least trained... barely, but at least she was friendly. Her main fault lies during the opening of the wine bottle, the initial cut was unclean and took more then 2 swipes of the blade, the remains of the seal she threw in the ashtray instead of keeping it on her to dispose of later, the bottle was placed on her lap all the while(Note: It was a low table) thus agitating the bottle and lastly she did not offer the cork to the host.
You might say I'm being picky, its just a cheap bottle of wine, but that is not to say one ignores proper standards and protocol just because someone bought cheaper stuff.
Oh, and the uniforms for the servers? Faded stripes with the logo of the establishment on an overly washed and stretched T-Shirt. An abomination!
But all these are not my main gripe. It was shortly after sipping a few glasses of wine and discussing existentialism, this horrible, elderly looking male server came along, inserted himself mysteriously in between me and a friend engaged in conversation, grabbed the bottle and sloshed (Note: NOT poured) wine into our glasses, and even when our friend who didn't want to drink anymore and covered his glass, he just sloshed wine past his fingers.
After which he promptly make off with one of two cushions I commandeered for my queenly comfort without asking. Sad to say, I was too shock to scream at him.
Well, the little chill session ended well and after that we went to a KTV to sing our hearts out.
Will I ever go back to Loof again? Well, not anytime soon, but if I do and have my cushions stolen again, I have a tazer with that idiots name on it. ZAP!!
Watering Hole for the Asinine, Yes I'm a retard for not sneak attacking that ^#&$& server for stealing my &$^%*# cushions!!!!
Its 0908, the sun is shiny, I've my Lion dance website to work on and a Valentine present to worry about. *Sighs* Work work.
